We are slow by design. We make our own Vow Collection rings right here in the shop and it takes time to do it with love and integrity. Once an order is paid in full, expect it to be completed within 4-10 weeks, depending on the design and our production schedule.
We always encourage folks to purchase wedding bands at least 3 months in advance and engagement ring projects should ideally start 2-4 months prior to your desired proposal date.
Locals are welcome to pick it up at the shop, and all other orders will ship overnight with our special insurance coverage to make sure it arrives safely. We coordinate with you prior to shipping any item to ensure you can sign for the package.
We are slow by design, and it's also very important to us that you have your items in time for the most special moments in your life. Our 4-10 week lead time allows us to ensure that every step of your order is crafted to the highest standards, and it puts padding into the process so we can smoothly correct any errors or imperfections in good time.
That said, we do offer Priority Service for $300 per item. If you purchase this service, you are in effect asking us to step on the gas - out of our slow by design rhythm and routine. We will begin coordinating and shipping at an expeditated rate with our suppliers, and putting your job at the front of the line, so to speak.
We do NOT, however, guarantee that your purchase will be completed earlier than 4 weeks. We will do our very best to meet whatever date you have in mind within reason, and we ask that in return you have some flexibility on your end if we are not able to get your item to you in under 4 weeks.
We do not accept Priority Service projects during our annual winter break (last week of Dec, first week of Jan).
Not usually. We specialize in made-to-order personalized rings that we craft to your specifications. Occasionally, we have unique one-of-kind rings that are ready to go, please call the shop at 707-827-6225 or contact us to inquire about availability.
Our Label turn-around times
All necklaces, earrings and bracelets we list online are labeled with the expected turn-around time. The vast majority of them are in-stock and will be processed in 1 business day and then shipped with our specialty insured service. If you see an item is 'made-to-order' please allow 2-4 weeks for us to make it for you.

Yes, we offer curbside pick up for locals, which is an option listed at checkout. You can also contact us anytime to change your preferred delivery method to curbside or ship.
Our Concierge Flat Rate is $35, shipping overnight via FedEx or UPS with insurance for full replacement value, tracking, and signature confirmation.
A member from our team will contact you to coordinate the specific arrival day so that you can be sure you're available to receive and sign for it. Once the date is coordinated, we will send you tracking information and you will get automatic updates via email on the status.
Our aim is to minimize waste whenever possible, so we have developed a packaging suite of items made from sustainable materials that are highly reusable and recyclable.
Every ring comes with a high quality keepsake linen presentation and storage box, a Ring Care Guide, a keepsake folder with your paperwork (including any gemstone certificates), all carefully wrapped to provide protection while also minimizing waste.
Our jewelry gift boxes are high quality FCS Certified paper with no branding/logos so that you can either utilize it in your home or save it for gifting. The shipping box and padding is made from post-consumer recycled materials and 100% recyclable.

Our Label fine jewelry items (necklaces, bracelets, earrings) are eligible for return/ exchange/ store credit within 10 days of receipt. Must be unworn and in original packaging.
Made to order Vow items (made to standard specifications) are eligible for return/ exchange/ store credit within 7 days of receipt with 15% restock fee - unless exchanging for an item of greater value.
Bespoke Vow items (made to unique specifications) are eligible exchange/ store credit only within 7 days of receipt with a 20% restock fee - unless exchanging for an item of greater value.
Fully custom one-of-a-kind are ineligible for return/ exchange/ or store credit but can be rebuilt for flat fee plus any additional materials costs. This is discussed in detail in our Custom Design Guide.
Terms All items must be pristine, unworn, and have original packaging. Please note that all returned items will go through a rigorous metal and gemstone inspection prior to approval. We ultimately reserve the right to refuse returns/ exchanges / store credit. All shipping charges are non-refundable.

We will send you explicit, step-by-step instructions once your RMA # has been issued.
Warranty and extended care
We guarantee our rings to be free of manufacturing defects. If you believe your ring (mounting) has a defect you may contact us within 24 hours of delivery. We will repair or replace your defective ring as deemed appropriate.
Crown Nine will also cover the cost of all repairs, including free replacement of small stones (under 2mm) under normal wear for the first six months after purchase. However, if the ring is noticeably damaged by way of being bent or showing improper care we will repair the ring at cost.
Center stones (diamond/sapphire/other) are not included in this warranty and would need to be covered by way of insurance, we recommend looking into Jeweler's Mutual or inquiring with your home or renter's insurance coverage.
To be eligible for the warranty: - Small stones must not be exposed to unreasonable force or harmful conditions. - The warranty does not apply to a product that has had any blunt force trauma, has been stored or handled incorrectly, abused, altered, or treated by incorrect cleaning methods. - The piece must not be altered or resized by any other jeweler. - Warranty is applied to the original purchaser of the product; the warranty is not transferable to third parties.
Yes- this is fundamental to our sustainability ethos: the better we care for our special items, the longer they will last which means we are reducing overall consumption of limited earthly resources.
We want to empower you to become an excellent steward to your heirloom which includes regular maintenance, as outlined in our full Ring Care Guide. We advise most items with gemstones to come in for an annual inspection and cleaning where we will look under a microscope to inspect all the elements and ensure all settings are tight. We are also happy to refinish your item anytime; it's as easy as booking here >.
If you are unable to come to the Sebastopol location for your cleaning/inspection service, we can send you an insured overnight ship label - round trip the shipping service is $60. Please contact us to arrange this service.
You will receive a keepsake folder to keep your documents organized, a Ring Care Guide, your receipt and any certifications for gemstones (if applicable). We can also arrange for a third-party appraisal or send a referral if you need one for insurance purposes.
Repair and replacement
It's ok, we're here for you! We will do our best to get it resolved quickly and with minimal fees. Please contact us to initiate a repair.
If you notice anything irregular with your ring or jewelry, take it off immediately and store in a safe place. This includes if you can't actually see any damage- for instance if it hits a hard surface bluntly, it's best to have it inspected to make sure everything is secure.
We will coordinate an inspection for you where we will look at your design under a microscope. Our warranty covers most repair work within the first six months and thereafter some fees may apply.
Bummer! That's the worst!
We will replace a single earring at half price of the pair, and whenever possible we will even try to give you a discount- though this is very case-by-case.

If you purchased a pair from another artist back in our Oakland location, we might be able to help. We no longer carry other artists in our shop, but sometimes can help you coordinate a replacement.
No. We only do repairs on our own Vow Collection and Our Label. We are not open to the public for general repairs.
CN is the hallmark indicating it is a Chinese import- so if you see it stamped your item was manufactured in China. This is not our hallmark. If your item is stamped CN please do not contact us for more information, it is just an unfortunate coincidence that our initials are the same.
Ring size help
We offer complimentary reusable ring sizing tools if you book a consultation with us, or you can order one directly through our website for free (just pay $5 for shipping). The tool is easy to use, and will give us a good read to start. The recipient of the ring will need to try on the tool, so this is not the best option if you are trying to do a surprise. Best practice is to get the recipient sized properly in a jewelry store or with our reusable ring sizing tool... but we get it, that can take some of the fun out of it! Next best option for figuring out the size is to 1. ask a friend or family member who might know (you'd be surprised!), or 2. measure in the interior diameter in millimeters of a thin ring, noting which finger it is worn on, or 3. simply send us a photo of your partner / hands and we'll take our best guess. All rings come with a complimentary resizing within 90 days of purchase, except *eternity bands which cannot be resized. We estimate that about 80% of our clients get their ring adjusted after we deliver it to them. Think of it like purchasing a custom garment: you might go to the tailor for your initial measurements, but the tailor will likely need to make further adjustments once you are wearing the completed garment to make sure that everything actually looks and feels good on your body. We consider your final adjustment a part of the whole process.
We recommend wearing your ring for a few days to see how if feels, noticing how your body fluctuates, and noting any discomfort of common issues. We will use this 'test-drive' information to help you discover the best fit adjustments.
Subsequent / additional resizings will be taken case-by-case, some will incur a small fee.
*Eternity bands require an accurate size, but if you get it wrong we can rebuild the entire ring for a $450 fee.
We retain the right to refuse a resizing if we believe it will compromise the integrity of the design.

Simply book online here>. Fittings include our professional recommendation for size adjustment, and then just leave the ring with us for 3-10 days depending on the complexity of the resize. You can schedule a time to pick up the finished ring or have it shipped back to you with our Concierge Overnight insured shipping for $35.
REMOTE SIZINGS - for non-locals
If you are not local, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will email you a ship label to send us your ring overnight, and ship back to you. Concierge Flat Rate Round Trip Service of $60 - covering insured overnight shipping in both directions.
Yes. The vast majority of our clients are creating highly customized renditions of our Vow Collection rings, resulting in a one-of-a-kind design. We consider this type of work 'Bespoke' because it is based on one of our over 100+ existing designs.
We also offer a few one-of-a-kind custom design slots every year, reserved for folks who are looking to have a completely new idea crafted from start to finish (only about 5% of our clients actually fall inside this category). We also do a very limited number of earring and necklace custom projects. Our 2021 books are currently closed for new projects but accepting a waitlist for 2022.

On a case by case basis. Our ethos centers on sustainability and responsible sourcing of all our materials so we prefer to work with either stones we have sourced from our trusted partners, or using family heirlooms that are intact in their original settings. We do not take in loose stones. If you are interested in having your item inspected for use, please contact us, we're happy to consider it.
Yes. We make almost all of our designs on a made-to-order basis and it can be very helpful to see side by side comparisons of options. We can provide CAD models for your review. We charge a deposit for this service and all drawings are copyrighted.

Yes, for many designs we can use your gold. While it is more sustainable, the price of the ring is unchanged because the additional labor required to do this offsets any savings. We really encourage this for the sentimental value added to a design- it can be very meaningful to have a thread that connects your ring to its legacy. We use 100% recycled gold in all our designs, so either option is highly sustainable.
We do offer a refining credit if you would like to scrap your gold. This is done by weight and the payout changes daily in conjunction with spot metal prices.
